Choice and “Making better life choices!”
Education
& Pre Registration – Begins in e-mails,
website, and our pre-registration info areas in Alajuela, Chacarita,
La Palma and Puerto Jimenez as guests arrive. All guests will know
where they will be staying, camping, sleeping and eating before
they arrive to the Osa Peninsula. Guests will be educated about
the limited facilities & infrastructure on the Osa, and most
guest will be encouraged to stay at hotels in Puerto Jimenez, camp
or homestay in La Palma.

Waste-
Both composting and non posting will be available at RFA09. Human
waste is already contracted to an organic farm. All temporary waste
& recycling structures will be made from sustainable bamboo,
and will have a secondary uses as a recycle stations for the community
of Amapola and La Palma after the festival. All food within the
festival will be 100% organic, and cooked on site for RFA09 guests,
musicians, and staff.
Transportation
–
R/T Chartered Bus service from Alajuela in included in price of
ticket, and those wishing to fly are encouraged to fly with Nature
Air. People choosing to rent cars are encouraged to car pool. Guest
can choose to travel sustainable, or choose to rent a car and car
pool. RFA09 Shuttle will run at 6am.- 9 pm. ( every 3 hours ) transportation
from festival to La Palma, Beach, Canyasa Pier and to and from Puerto
Jimenez. All chartered buses and planes will assist in the transfer
of recyclable goodsback to San Jose.
Local
Employment -
The festival will create jobs and tourism each rainy season: management,
parking, recycling, taxis, transportation & hotel reservations
for hotels in both San Jose and Puerto Jimenez. Tico families offering
their homes to festival guests as part of our homestay will be paid
and fed by festival proceeds.

Health / Water / Safety / Security –
Only organic food will be served inside the gates
Non potable water provided by AYA Amapola
Potable Spring water supplied by AYA Canyaza / Rancho Dulce
Police, Minae, and Red Cross support.
Festival concludes before dark to efficiently manage and secure
the site each evening. All health, safety and medical infrastructure
will be on-site during the festival.
Recycling
–
All guests will be encouraged to purchase our festival water bottle,
printed with our message an logo. We will discourageplastic water
bottles within the gates of festival. All recycled goods will be
washed and recycled by volunteers and festival guests. All food
served at RFA09 is a 100% organic in nature, creating a minimal
garbage footprint before, during or after the festival.
Recreation
–
Recreation and tours will be managed by the tourism leaders of the
community, both in Alajuelah, Amapola, and Puerto Jimenez. Festival
traffic into Puerto Jimenez will be reduced to 5-6 shuttles per
day. Guests will be presented with all tour optionsatfestival and
during registration.
