Children's Book / Game … Help?

I remember as a kid I liked it. Was either a picture book or a game on the computer. It was in a series and most likely a book. It was a girl whose parents were explorers, and she went with them to all these different places. She had a pet (iguana, the mouse, something like that) she always said she did not have, but they always sneak into the journey with them. Anyway, out of 2 pages of the book or the display shows a nature scene. I remember I went to the ocean (snorkeling), jungle, desert, swamps, etc. .. It was a bit like ISPY in the fact that it would give certain animals and plants had to find (the eel, monkeys, rabbits, different corals). This has been going crazy trying to remember what it is. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! EDIT: No, not a TV show, you're thinking of The Wild Thornberrys and that's not what I'm thinking unfortunately … anyone else?

is the cartoon show that appeared on NICK. the girl could talk to animals. and the mascot was a monkey? I do not know if that's what we're talking about b / c of this Is not that old, but maybe … I can not even think about what it's called, but maybe help …
