The tropical rainforest: a network of relationships
People talk about the rainforest as an ecosystem, but most tend to think of the trees (and to some extent, plants) as a mere animal habitats that survive within their domain. However, there is a much deeper and more complex than that: trees, plants, birds, mammals, reptiles and insects from forests are all equal and vital contributors to the ecosystem. They can play a little or very different roles, but nevertheless contribute equally to the welfare and balance of the forest. The trees provide shelter and food, whereas birds, mammals and insects propagate the progeny of plants (seeds, pollen and spores), so that the next generation of plants can succeed his parents. Animals also interact in a way that maintains the balance of predator and prey under control, so there's always plenty to eat and enough space for everyone.
One tends think of living organisms in terms of their shapes and sizes. It is the elephant with his massive frame, long trunk and gleaming white teeth, all the way workers tireless ants. The centered way of thinking leads us to believe that there is a hierarchy of importance in the web of life, when in fact every living organism is built exclusively for the way there and behaves this wonderful bioshpere we call Earth. The giant trees of the forest, with its lush vegetation, the smallest insects, with finely developed body structure and unique niche, and all of these wonderful creatures that live in their own way fascinating work, not only for themselves, but together for the benefit of their environment. It is a sustainable living in absolute perfection.
This is not just a casual relationship that can be easily form and breaks. It's something that has had many hundreds if not thousands of years to build, to negotiate. Something that has had the individual to participate to help to resolve their functions and their differences so that the entire ecosystem functions smoothly. It is as if the forest acts as a single unit, moving and poetic in its form and function. The fact that such a diverse group organisms can learn to cooperate in such an admirable, in contrast to the human race (a group of very similar organisms), really put us to shame. Perhaps this is something that human beings should be eager to explore and learn, so that we can make our living space much more in harmony with the world we live in – like the rest citizens of this planet.

CANM someone please explain to me on the forest ecosystems in terms they can understand?
I have a project on tropical forest ecosystems is due tomorrow. I have graphs of climate and food chains and have been searching the net, but I do not understand that. Can someone please save me and explain In basic terms it is even possible that one of nine years to understand and stay awake through! EASY 10 POINTS!
Hoo boy, you is asking a lot. Well, think of the forest layers. Each layer has specific animals and plants that operate in it, each with their own little food webs. They also climates have their own little – the lower ones are cooler but more humid, warmer and drier as you go up (this does not count for cloud forests). Each layer also affects the other layers. If a tree falls and rips a hole in the deck, ground level floors suddenly spring to action and have a race to the top, where all is sunshine. In addition, plants, animals and fungi in the bottom layer break down nutrients to the trees to absorb. There really is not that the most fertile soil in the rainforest – all dead things decompose within days, and trees absorb all the nutrients immediately.
