I'm looking for a jungle poem?
I teach 1st grade and I'm looking for a (not very) simple poem for children. It can be a jungle animal too. Can anyone help? I have the poem that deals with layers and sung to the tune of if you're happy and you know it.
La Selva By Martha McDermott Birds sang and the sun was shining, the loud howling monkeys, the river was flowing and the fish were swimming, as the flamingos were standing proud. A very light drizil fell, as a Jaguar squatting on the ground, a majestic Leapord climbed a tree, as if a crown, while completing a green hummingbird buzzed about animated life. Animals fluttering around so naive and clueless, and it bounced around their own little way. And up came a giant plow that began to suppress, a lush garden so lovely and fresh. Now that the monkeys are homeless. and its all for us, too. Now, I always try to do my best and hopefully always will, too.
