3 Day Music Festival "Fun Raiser" On The Osa Peninsula

Be a part of the first and most important global environmental event ever to take place in Costa Rica: The first Rainforest Aid music festival in Costa Rica. June 19, 20 and 21 on the edge of the Corcovado Biological Reserve on The Osa Peninsula (see accommodations info). Global Entertainment and Good Time Charley Productions presents Rainforest Aid 2009 to raise funds for wildlife protection, conservation, education, health, employment, sanitation and community improvement projects. Costa Rica’s best musicians take the stage in the village of Amapola (Plaza de Garzas Doradas) near La Palma to raise awareness about the importance of Osa’s rainforest, what National Geographic calls “the most biologically intense place on Earth.”

Join hundreds of others for three days of music, cultural, and educational events, including a job fair and children’s activities. Attend workshops and discussions by experts in their fields on topics such as reforestation, sustainable development, tourism, green building technologies, alternative energy and organic food. The net proceeds from Rain Forest Aid events over the next five years will directly fund a new Osa-Wide Sustainable Landfill and Recycling Center, bringing health and new employment opportunities to residents.

3 Day RFA Festival Passes On-Line and On Sale Now!

Your Contribution Helps Kids, Trees and Monkeys A portion of your ticket goes directly towards supporting local schools and community as well as re-building a bridge for the community of Palo Seco.

In addition to helping to plant trees and strengthening corridors, Rainforest Aid aims to install 4-5 monkeys bridges over the newly improved road coming into Puerto Jimenez. Right now 3 species of monkeys are trapped on the east side of the road and have no way to return to the larger tracts of primary forest adjacent to Corcovado and part of The Reserve. In cooperation with ICE ( electric company ) Rainforest Aid monkey bridge efforts supports the larger corridor regeneration programs by re-attaching de fragmented pieces of secondary and primary rainforest near Corcovado National Park.

Your contribution also helps buy re-usable grocery bags for local stores on The Osa and helps us reduce waste by reducing our usage of plastic and eventually eliminating plastic grocery bags. Buy Your RainforestAid Ticket On-Line Today and make a direct contribution to community projects. Join Manuel Obregon, Evolucion, Akasha, Igni Feroque, Tawala Reggae Roots Band, Kingo Lovers and Gary Hoey. Manuel will be performing his Simbiosis Concerto at the festival at sunset adjacent to Corcovado.

Unite Costa Rica with your Osa neighbors, with fellow citizens of Costa Rica, and with the world community in preserving a national and global treasure. Celebrate the summer solstice at RainForestAid June 19, 20 and 21 on the Osa Peninsula.
