Plate Tectonics What Causes Global Warming?
I need evidence to support that plate tectonics (continental drift) processes can cause global warming. I need to find the forces of plate tectonics that have nothing to do with humanity is contributing to global global. Much of what I found is like the tectonic plates can cause a cooling of the earth instead of heating it. I need help for research this because I'm not having much luck. I found that ocean currents and volcanoes actually cool instead of warm earth. If you believe that humanity is causing global warming or not is not important in this research.
First, "Global Warming" is a theory, not fact. If you doing scientific research, it is necessary to be careful to distinguish fact from hypothesis. There is abundant evidence to suggest that, indeed, the temperature average is increasing but there is also evidence that the average temperature decreases as the oceans get warmer not cooler in the last 15 years or so. Besides, plate tectonics is also a theory, all but proven, like the atomic theory. Plate tectonics contribute to the amount of thermal energy in the Earth's atmosphere with the release of physical heat of volcanoes and lava land and underwater, as well as greenhouse gases which is named as the CO2 released by volcanoes. There is also the dissipation of heat from the friction on the edges of the compression plate and transcurrent. All this heat is the indirect result of radiogenic heat deep with the land that drives plate tectonics in the first place.
