Permaculture – Sustainable design for sustainable living

Studies dating back to early 1900 provided sufficient information to show that diversity biodiversity is the only sustainable design for sustainable living. A single agency or a small group of organisms is not responsible for sustainable living. This is where modern farming methods were wrong, and therefore struggling with multiple problems such as pests, crop yields low and high investment in technical agricultural.

Permaculture was due to one pushing for certain groups of people that the earth is reaching its physical limits. Our increasing appetite for energy is depleting natural resources at our disposal. The Earth's depressing thought stripped of all its resources led to a revolution silent but strong expressing the cry of the new methods of sustainable design for sustainable living – of all organisms, not just humans.

Permaculture, according to Andrew Faust, who has been teaching permaculture design for over 17 years, can be described as increasing the ecological health to meet human needs. Faust, like other professional permaculture advocates low-tech, passive methods of agriculture to high technology, "energy hog" infrastructure that is being followed by farmers today.

Permaculture or permanent culture "Is based on sustainable design for sustainable living provided by Mother Nature itself. A complex web of species with each other are simultaneous connections different agencies and the whole system is a synergistic whole that feeds on these interconnections. As the number of interconnections, so the sustainability of the system. For example, on a farm, the farmer uses pesticides to control weeds. However, in a permaculture farm, animals such as sheep can be bred to track on natural weed. Thus, each element of permaculture farming contributes to the perfection for growth and development of the farm. The fact that this system includes humans are only incidental, in fact, the system is not built for or around humans, but involves human beings as one element in it.

Because of this, permaculture farming labor is much less intense than a modern farm. A natural forest contains a number of layers of elements in it. From plants low vines, shrubs and tall trees, the different elements that populate it. The production of such material must exceed ecosystem production of the same material in a modern building. This is because the former requires little maintenance mode, while the modern farm needs plowing, planting, fertilizing, cultivating, weeding and so on. The energy required to serve a modern farm requires different types of fossil fuel inputs to more conventional forms of energy. However, if we convincing natural forests to grow crops that we want, effort and energy required would be much lower. This is the sustainable design found in nature we can depend for sustainable living.

"Two are listed and sold as a set is revoked. Redwood Lumbering Another: "In the northern California coast, the city of Arcata owns and manages about 1,200 acres of redwood forests in the two decades since voters of the city office. ecological forest, crops on the property have continued to bring significant benefits while providing wildlife habitat, public recreation and employment. Forest management has benefited greatly from the collaboration between the city, its citizens, and experts in forestry and natural resource programs at Humboldt State University. Arcata example shows that the redwood forests of second growth, given the time and good management, you can retrieve large part of its original character and yet provide a range of goods and services.
