What are the most common reasons for deforestation?
Can not imagine a world without trees. No trees, no fresh air breathing. Without forests, most of the surface soil is eroded every year, there will be landslides and folds regularly even when there will be increased less rainfall. This is exactly what has been happening for years.
Humans have been cutting trees since antiquity for the construction as houses, furniture and weapons. Trees are very important for human survival. Its wood is used as fuel for housing and to provide nourishments.
However, the forests of the old days does not decrease as they are today. The question is why our forests are not a lot of trees, how this occurred and why deforestation is happening. Below are three major factors that lead to reduction if the growth of trees in forests.
The population growth
Forests have been cleared for erratic serving the growing population of humans. The demand for space more land for shopping centers, manufacturing plants and construction of houses is increasing. This does not end here, the trees are still used for paper products. Demand for most products has increased the demand for trees leading timber companies struggle to meet the market.
The threat of deforestation has been caused mainly by the following factors:
– Cash crops and the development of cattle ranching, both are a source to earn money for tropical countries.
– Conversion of forests into agricultural land and forests to feed the growing number of human beings.
– The factor of commercial logging that supplies the international market for wood such as teak, meranti, ebony and mahogany. Removes trees and also opens the forest for agriculture
– Cutting down trees for firewood and building materials, fodder and for heavy use of seedlings by domestic animals like goats.

Although timber companies cut down hundreds of trees every hour and every day to cleanse the land. Deforestation have not occurred if new trees have been planted in the place of cutting trees. Unfortunately, when the timber industry was booming in the 80's, there was little effort by the government and the private sector to protect forests.
Once the errors of their ways were made, timber companies have given money and time to rebuild forests for future generations. These reforestation efforts have saved many bare areas. The growth of tree seedlings can be slow and can take many years or so before you see the large trees and standing strong again. At least what was taken will now be replaced.
Human failures
There are times where deforestation occurs as an accident due to natural calamities such as volcanic eruptions that can wipe out large areas of forestation in question of hours. However, there are cases where human error and natural events are not the cause of deforestation. There are examples of forest fires may be caused by cigarette butts and can kill trees and animals in just a matter of hours.
Positive news
There is still hope through attempts of many environmentalists, conservation and reforestation projects that have brought the life of the forest. Besides this, the digitization of storage and exchange of information has reduced demand for paper usage.
